August 2012: Holland Arts Council Summer Arts Camp (Holland, MI)
During the summer of 2012, I taught creative dance lessons at the Holland Arts Council Summer Arts Camp. For two weeks I collaborated with a team of art, music, and theater teachers to create a unified arts curriculum. Our lessons were based on the theme of "Carnival of the Animals" by famous composer Camille Saint-Saens. This gave me wonderful experience working with elementary and middle school students.
Fall 2012: Zeeland West High School (Zeeland, MI)
For my Teaching English methods class, my coinciding field placement was at Zeeland West High School in a College-Bound Senior British Literature class. I observed, assisted, and taught a lesson on the Pardoner's Tale from Chaucer's Canterbury Tales.
Spring 2012: Zeeland East High School (Zeeland, MI)
For my Secondary Principles Education class, my coinciding field placement was at Zeeland East High School in a Freshman and Sophomore dance I and II class. I observed, assisted, and taught many lessons in Jazz, Modern, Ballet, and Tap. Because of the large number of students in each class, I learned valuable classroom management skills for teaching dance.
Spring 2012: Holland Arts Council Spring Break Arts Camp (Holland, MI)

Spring 2012: First Presbyterian Church Preschool (Holland, MI)
For my Teaching Dance methods class, I had a field experience at the First Presbyterian Church's Preschool. During this placement, I planned, created, and taught creative dance and academic integration lessons. My favorite lesson was teaching the letter "U" through movement.
Fall 2011: Harbor Lights Middle School (Holland, MI)
For my Secondary Block education classes, my coinciding field placement was at Harbor Lights Middle school in a 7th-grade English Language Arts class. This was my first experience teaching in an English classroom; I observed, assisted, and taught a lesson on "conflict in drama".
May 2011: The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Holland (Holland, MI)
For my Exceptional Child education class, my field placement was at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Holland. I worked with "At-Risk" students in the elementary program. I mostly hung out with students and helped them with any of their needs.
Spring 2011: Holland Heights K-7 (Holland, MI)
For my very first education class Educational Psychology, my first field placement was at Holland Heights K-7. I observed, assisted, and taught lessons to kindergarten students.
